全世界的水源,只有0.08%到达水龙头

这个地球的表面大部分都被海洋、河流和湖泊为覆盖,但是究竟有多少是可以最后到达我们的水龙头以供给我们食用?只有0.08%!

88%:在所有因为痢疾而导致的死亡的人数中,有多达88%是因为引用不安全水源、不够适用于卫生的水和不够卫生设施。如果把百分比转换成数目字,那么每年就将近有一百五十到一百九十万五岁以下的孩童死于痢疾,相等于每天有将近4000位儿童丧命!

The world is covered in oceans, rivers and lakes, but when we look at how much actually makes it to our faucets, it only amounts to around 0.08%.

88%: Number of deaths from diarrhea are caused from unsafe drinking water, inadequate availability of water for hygiene, and lack of access to sanitation; this translates to more than 1.5 million of the 1.9 million children under five who perish from diarrhea each year. This amounts to 18% of all under-five deaths and means that more than 4,000 children are dying every day as a result of diarrhoeal diseases.

转载:西南大旱,最缺的是水吗?

西南旱情严重,许多人连水也喝不上,人们开始号召捐款。各种各样的活动出现,比如“一块钱一瓶水”,团中央要求团员和少先队员一人捐一瓶水。我却有疑问,我们最缺的是什么?

首先:如果国家缺钱,百姓捐献义不容辞。但我没看出我们国家缺钱。

大家捐钱前看几个数字:西南抗旱累计投入25.7亿元。沪杭磁悬浮投资220亿元。云南最近3年投入水利水电456亿元,但城乡失衡重水电轻水利导 致农村水利仍极度缺乏,有3000多水库病险。而世博会及配套设施总投资近4000亿元。

更惊人的消息,湖北省预计至“十二五”初期全省投资总规模达到12.06万亿元。三倍于2008年底推出的4万亿经济刺激方案,接近于2009年湖 北省GDP的10倍。北京大兴区亦庄地块52.4亿,大望京1号地40.8亿,西南两个省的水都不如北京一块地值钱么?还有武汉“纪念辛亥革命”要花 200亿元,建个孔子学院网站花了三千万,中国工会网站改版花650万,做个绿坝一年使用费四千万……

原来国家或地方政府这么有钱,那为什么灾民连水也喝不起?为什么没钱修路修水利?云南病险水库三十多年没修过了……广西挑水老人5年前就交了修路的集资款,现在路还是没有修好。

没看出我国缺钱,天灾的后面是投资不均的旱涝之灾,有些人一无所有,有些却得到太多。

钱要捐,但请领导们也曝曝自己捐了多少,平时花了多少,是何比例。款项使用帐目能不能公开,让不让查证。

我不差捐的这点钱,我怕的是我们每捐一万,就帮政府省了一万,而省下来的这一万,是否还会用在灾民身上?为什么连一个偏远小乡网上公开帐目,都被当成轰动全国的新闻。民众永远会问,我们纳了那么多税,捐了那么多钱,想知道这些钱用去哪了,效果如何,这要求很过份吗?

中国西南部严重干旱

其次:假如灾区真没水了,哪怕我们捐钱从美国运也行,但灾区真的没水了吗?

看一条新闻摘抄:云龙水库是昆明主城区供水水源的专用水。蓄水量足以支撑主城区顺利度过旱期。村民们却没水吃。村民说: “这些水肯定是用不完,为什 么不能救济一下我们,只要坝闸开一个小口,下游几万人就不会是现在的样子。”可昆明自来水公司相关人士告诉《中国新闻周刊》:“但枯水期为保证城市供水, 肯定是不会放水的。”

另一条新闻:23日晚,昆明金色大道金色紫竹园门口中水管爆裂。自来水公司人员赶到后,发现爆裂的不是自来水管就离开了。直到24日9点,几名抢修 人员赶到现场进行修复,冒水点的水流才停止。这段时间流走了多少水,够灾区多少人喝多少天?(现在灾区小学生们一瓶水喝五天)还有灾区某收费站用自然水洗 马路,水管不关任由流掉理由是开关太远。昆明洗车、洗浴中心照常营业。

看来缺水,只是对某些人而言罢了。

一边是号召全国老百姓捐款捐物,一边是水还在花花的流,澡照洗茶照喝,这不是很荒诞吗?

我们缺的不是水,是平等。我们的灾不仅是旱灾,更是投资失衡、长期忽视农民和弱势群体的灾。

所以我想请在昆明的朋友,如果你们没限水的话,接你们家的自来水(能烧开更好),用尽量大的瓶,然后送交相关救灾部门或信得过的人与单位,监督他们送到灾区。这比搞什么全国一人一瓶的“远水”要实际有效的多。政府也可以组织这样的调水,真想帮灾民,这是最实际的。而不是有事就要大家捐钱,等没事了就看见政府部门拿着百姓的纳税存款四处投资花费,甚至某些人拿去公款吃喝浪费、大盖楼堂馆所,然后再有事了,又要大家捐钱了……最后百姓连个使用帐目都看不到。我宁愿向昆明市民买水委托直送灾区,也不愿把钱打进某个我无法查证的帐户。

目前还没有适当的论证证明全球暖化是个谎言。之前虽然发生一些喧哗,是关于在IPCC报表处找到了一些数据错误和一些官员夸大数据,但是大家都忽略了一大事实:

这些全球暖化怀疑论者,从来没有发表过任何强而有力的科学证明来解释现今我们看到的全球气候怪象和巨大变化。

There is no good argument against global warming. In all the brouhaha about tiny errors recently found in the massive IPCC report, the posturing by global climate deniers, including some elected officials, leaked emails, and media reports, here is one fact that seems to have been overlooked:

Those who deny that humans are causing unprecedented climate change have never, ever produced an alternative scientific argument that comes close to explaining the evidence we see around the world that the climate is changing.

根据路透社新闻指出,澳洲的科学家们在3月15日(周一)发表了一份“气候状态”(State of the Climate)的报告证实气候变迁却有其事。

这些科学家表示,他们观察和研究澳洲百年来的气候状况,结果明确显示,气候变迁却有其事。

澳洲联邦科学与工业研究组织(CSIRO)负责人克拉克(Megan Clark)表示,他们观察到气候变迁的重要证据。澳洲每个地方在每个季节都有暖化的现象,每过了10年,纪录就不断被打破。

  • 自1960年开始,澳洲大陆的平均温度上升了摄氏0.7度,有些局部地区甚至上升了摄氏1.5 到2度。

全球暖化是危言耸听?

Australia’s top scientists on Monday released a “State of the Climate” report at a time of growing skepticism over climate change

“We are seeing significant evidence of a changing climate. We are warming in every part of the country during every season and as each decade goes by, the records are being broken,” said Megan Clark, head of Australia’s state-backed Commonwealth Scientific & Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO).

Here’s the meat of their report, according to Reuters:

  • Since 1960, the mean temperature in Australia has increased by about 0.7 degrees Celsius, but some areas of the country had warmed by 1.5 to 2 degrees Celsius in the past 50 years, the report said.
  • Australia’s warmest decade on record is 2000 to 2009.
  • While total rainfall in Australia had been relatively stable, the geographic distribution changed significantly over the past 50 years, with rainfall decreasing in southwest and southeast Australia, the major population areas.
  • Sea levels around the island continent since 1993 have risen 7-10mm per year in the north and west and 1.5 to 3mm in the south and east, said the report.
  • From 1870 to 2007, the global average sea level rose by close to 200mm (8 inches), sea levels rose at an average of 1.7mm a year in the 20th century and about 3mm per year from 1993-2009, it said.
  • Sea surface temperatures around Australia have increased by about 0.4 degrees Celsius in the past 50 years.
  • The scientists said global carbon dioxide concentration in 2009 of 386 parts per million (ppm) was much higher than the natural range of 170 to 300 ppm that existed in the atmosphere for the past 800,000 years and possibly 20 million years.
  • The scientists said that based on their monitoring of the nation’s climate for 100 years, Australian average temperatures are projected to rise by 0.6 to 1.5 degrees Celsius by 2030.

二氧化碳固然可恶,但也还有其他可恶的

2008年圣诞节前一天,位于田纳西哈里曼的一个煤矿废渣处理池发生坍塌事故——41亿公升的煤矿废渣倾泻在了方圆302公顷的地区,摧毁了三栋居民住宅,另外损坏了将近40所居民住宅,但没有人员伤亡。事故发生后,各个环保组织强烈抗议了当地政府的不负责任:因为泄漏的废渣所造成的飞尘很可能对人体有害,而且这些煤矿废渣之中不乏重铅和三氧化二砷(俗称砒霜)。

开采煤矿本身就是可怕且对生态系统和周围社区具有高度破坏力的活动。洗涤采煤伴随而来的都是数百万加仑的含毒物的泥浆。燃烧煤也是可怕的,因为会产生含有大量重金属的飞尘,而且经常会威胁没有遮盖的蓄水池和周围居民的健康。

这些燃烧后散发到大气的污染物不仅二氧化碳,而且同时也含有二氧化硫、氧化氮、可变的有机化合物、水银、砷、铅,镉和烟雾形成微粒物质。

这些细小,玻璃状微粒通常排入池塘处理以减少飞尘传播。在美国,由于立法不足,所以允许煤矿把飞尘排入池塘或湖水里,但过后这些威胁健康的毒素往往都渗透到地下水、河流而形成严重的水源污染。

The people of Harriman, Tenn., got coal in their stockings three days before Christmas. That’s when 1.1 billion gallons of coal plant sludge loaded with pollutants such as lead and arsenic burst from a containment pond at the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Kingston Fossil Plant and spread over 302 acres, destroying three homes and damaging more than three dozen others. As bad as this disaster was, what made it worse was the revelation that such pools of pollutants aren’t federally regulated.

Getting coal out of the ground is horrifically destructive to both ecosystems and human communities. Washing coal to prepare it for transport leaves behind multi-million gallon pools of toxic slurry, which regularly fail and flood nearby communities.

Burning coal is also horrific. It leaves behind enormous quantities of heavy metal-laden coal ash, often in uncovered impoundments, from which ash drifts onto local communities.

Into the air it releases not only CO2 but sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxide, volatile organic compounds, mercury, arsenic, lead, cadmium, and smog-forming particulates.

The fine, glassy particles are usually disposed of in ponds to reduce the spread of dust. Fly ash is permitted to pile up in unlined pools that could leach health-threatening toxins into groundwater, rivers and streams or become unstable and burst.
